I am very happy to see that a new edition of J. Gresham Machen's classic work, Christianity and Liberalism, is being published (with a foreword by Carl Trueman). Few books have stated more clearly and more accurately what was (and still is) at stake with liberalism. If you want to get a pulse on 20th Century Christianity in the West (especially in America) and hear a first-rate theologian defend Christian orthodoxy, this is the best book you can read.
